Women's Self Defense and Awareness Class

Women’s Self Defense and Awareness Class Open Door North Forty Campus

Contrary to the myth that women will only get hurt worse if they fight back research consistently shows that “forceful resistance” strategies are effective, particularly in thwarting sexual assaults.

During this fun and informative introductory seminar participants will learn about the reality and myths of criminal attacks and those that perpetrate them. Participants will also examine how to raise awareness and develop fundamental self-defense techniques.

The class is taught in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere by certified personal defense instructors with years of teaching experience. In addition to physical skills participants will be able to see and get information on a variety of personal protection devices.

The course does involve physical activity so all participants should dress in workout type clothing or other comfortable attire. There will be an optional follow up course for participants to practice and expand their techniques. Space is limited and preregistration is required.
